IF I USE AN IUD AND STILL GET PREGNANT, DOES THE IUD GO INSIDE THE BABY’S BELLY?

No, if you are pregnant while using an IUD, it does not move into the baby’s abdomen. The IUD usually stays in the woman’s uterus and the baby develops in a separate space in the uterus.

When you become pregnant, the fertilized egg implants into your uterine lining. An IUD prevents pregnancy by making it difficult for sperm to reach the egg or by causing changes in the uterus that make it difficult for the egg to implant. Once the egg is fertilized, the IUD cannot move or harm the developing baby.

However, you should consult a healthcare professional whether to remove the IUD to avoid any unknown risks.
